CalOSBA

California Office of Small Business Advocate

Service Provider

The California Office of the Small Business Advocate (CalOSBA) supports economic growth by providing resources and support to the state’s 4.1 million small businesses, including non-profits and startups. Our mission is to help all California small business-owners find and navigate resources, programs and regulations so they can start, manage, grow, become more resilient, and thrive. By ensuring equitable access to capital, markets and networks, we aim to help Democratize Access to Capital, Diversify the Innovation Economy and Drive Economic Mobility through Entrepreneurship.

CalOSBA has put together an incredible network of business coaches, resource centers, leadership programs, and multiple ways for entrepreneurs to access the money they need to continue to build and grow their business. By introducing the SCALE Network, we’ve made it even easier for business owners to find the right kind of help, from real people right in their community.

The SCALE Network is the connected system of resources, support, capital and opportunities that CalOSBA makes accessible to all of California, with a focus on reaching diverse, innovative and underrepresented businesses. SCALE stands for Success, Capital Access, and Leadership for Entrepreneurs. The network consists of ever growing and evolving programs and initiatives that strategically focus on small businesses, startups and innovative entrepreneurs.

CalOSBA is diversifying the innovation economy by harnessing California’s unique research and development, science and technology, angel and venture capital networks, local, and regional-level resources, California will continue to lead the world in innovation with a more diversified group of leaders. The Accelerate California Inclusive Innovation Hubs, or Accelerate CA Hubs program, as part of the SCALE Network, is designed to catalyze and foster innovation ecosystems across the state while also creating avenues for entrepreneurs to access funding for their businesses.
