COO at Connect

Christie has been supporting San Diego’s regional economic development since 2012 when she moved as a Marine Corps spouse to Carlsbad. She has over 15 years of professional experience in community and economic development, having worked with government consulting firms, local government entities and community development non-profits. As economic development manager for the City of Carlsbad she helped the city achieve tremendous employment growth in the innovation sector while improving internal city processes. Prior to joining Connect she worked with the Jacobs Center for Neighborhood Innovation provided essential resources and services to the Southeastern San Diego community during the early years of the COVID-19 pandemic. She has her Masters in Urban Planning from Columbia University. She joined the Connect team in September 2021 and is excited to scale the organization’s work alongside her coworkers.  Christie loves to cook, cherishes spending time with her family and travels whenever she can.
