Parking for private charter buses is extremely limited and must be requested at least 14 days prior to the game. Please contact your Sales Representative for more information.

Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) Bus and Trolley Service
All three (3) MTS Trolley lines, plus select bus routes, provide direct, frequent service to Petco Park. Three Trolley stations – 12th and Imperial, Park and Market, and the Gaslamp Quarter Station (Fifth Avenue and Harbor Drive) – are all within two blocks of the stadium. Fans can also use MTS’ free Park & Ride lots along MTS Trolley and Rapid routes for easy access to Petco Park! Trolley service runs every 15 minutes or better during most game times, and will also offer enhanced service after most night games. View the MTS Trolley map (including stations with parking).

Paying for your Fare:

 

Padres fans can purchase fares right on their phone with the PRONTO mobile ticketing app in the App Store or on Google Play. Simply load money to your phone, then scan your app on a validator to pay for a one-way fare (good for two hours of travel time).

PRONTO cards are also available for purchase or reload at all Trolley ticket machines or retail partner locations. Every passenger must have their own PRONTO card or app to ride.

Family Promotions: Riders 18 & under are eligible for free transit rides with a Youth PRONTO card or app account! Learn more. In addition, every Saturday & Sunday, two children (12 and under) can ride Trolley for free with any paying adult (18 and over, no PRONTO card or app account necessary).

 

Service Information:

 

A number of Trolley and Rapid stations offer free parking. Visit sdmts.com/padres to view a list of Park & Ride lots with travel times, or the MTS Park & Ride page. Please note that new stations along the extended Blue Line (Tecolote Road, Balboa Avenue, and Nobel Drive) offer significant parking. Also note that parking is no longer available at Stadium Station or Grantville Station along the Green Line, due to construction (best alternative lots along the Green Line are Morena Linda Vista and Old Town).

  • Sycuan Green Line – Service from Santee, El Cajon, La Mesa, SDSU, SDCCU Stadium, Mission Valley, or Old Town to the Gaslamp Quarter Station
  • UC San Diego Blue Line – Service from San Ysidro, Chula Vista, or National City in the South Bay, and ClairemontLa Jolla and UTC in North County
  • Orange Line – Service from El Cajon, La Mesa, Lemon Grove, or Encanto
  • Rapid 215: Service from SDSUCity HeightsHillcrest or Balboa Park to City College, then transfer to the Blue or Orange Line to 12th & Imperial Transit Center

North County Transit District – COASTER Train from North County
The COASTER train is a convenient way to travel from North County to every Padres home game. Easily accessible with free parking at seven rail stations between Oceanside and Santa Fe Depot, the COASTER lets you save money and avoid traffic on Interstate-5. COASTER Regional Day Passes are available for $15.00 per adult, Senior/Disabled/Medicare passengers pay $7.50 and all riders 18 and under are eligible for free transit rides with a Youth PRONTO card or app account! Learn more here. Children 5 and under also ride free when accompanied by a fare paying adult.

The new COASTER 5-Pack and COASTER 10-Pack provides even more flexibility at a discounted price for Padres fans who attend numerous games and are looking for convenient transportation. The COASTER 5-Pack provides customers with 5 individual days of travel within 30 days of purchase, and the COASTER 10-Pack provides 10 days of unlimited travel within 60 days of purchase. Riders save 40%-50% on the COASTER Regional Day Pass. The 5 and 10 packs are valid on all COASTER zones, and free transfers to the MTS Trolley.

All COASTER passes are available via the PRONTO mobile ticketing app (available for iOS and Android devices) or at ticket vending machines at COASTER stations. Consumption or possession of open containers of alcoholic beverages is strictly prohibited on the COASTER, and all NCTD vehicles and property.

Take Amtrak Pacific Surfliner from Orange County and Los Angeles
Amtrak Pacific Surfliner offers 11 trips each day to Santa Fe Depot in downtown San Diego from Los Angeles, Orange County and North San Diego County. The Pacific Surfliner travels along a scenic coastal route between Orange County and San Diego, offing a convenient alternative to sitting in traffic on Interstate 5. Each Pacific Surfliner train features spacious, reclining seats; power outlets; complimentary Wi-Fi; and a Café car offering a variety of snacks, sandwiches, and beverages, including local craft beer. From the Santa Fe Depot, take a 25-minute stroll to Petco Park or board a southbound Green Line Trolley to the Gaslamp Quarter Station or 12th & Imperial (about a 12-minute trip).

By Ferry
The San Diego Bay Ferry departs from the Coronado Ferry Landing Shopping Center to 5th Ave Landing (behind the Convention Center) starting at 9:10 a.m. and recurring every half-hour until 9:40 p.m (10:40 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays). Returning from 5th Ave Landing to Coronado starting at 9:25 a.m. and recurring every half-hour until 9:55 p.m. (10:55 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays). The ferry costs $5 per person, each way. Bicycle Parking
Bike racks are conveniently located at the corner of Trevor Hoffman Way and Tony Gwynn Drive, on J street at 8th and 9th Avenues, and across from the Gaslamp Entry Gate on 7th Avenue.

Free Ride Downtown Shuttles (FRED)
Free Ride Everywhere Downtown (FRED) is an innovative, eco-friendly electric shuttle service operating in Downtown San Diego. The service is supported by sponsoring brands, so the rides are 100% FREE. Shuttle service operates seven days a week on the following schedule:

Mon – Thurs – (7 a.m. – 9 p.m.)
Fri – (7 a.m. – 10 p.m.)
Sat – (8 a.m. – 10 p.m.)
Sun – (9 a.m. – 9 p.m.)

By Ferry

Parking

For fans traveling by car, four major thoroughfares feed into and out of downtown in all directions: Pacific Highway, Interstate 5, State Route 163 and State Route 94/Martin Luther King Freeway. In addition, eight freeway on- and off-ramps service the area immediately around the ballpark. The Padres encourage fans to carpool to Petco Park.

 

Padres preferred parking is available adjacent to Petco Park. On weekends, special events and other large crowd games, guests should plan on utilizing public transportation or parking facilities a short walk from the ballpark.

 

Parking Near Petco Park
The San Diego Padres, in partnership with ACE Parking, offer a broad range of parking options at a variety of price levels and locations. More than 27,000 parking spaces are located near the ballpark in the downtown area. Of those spaces, 9,000 have been designated specifically for Petco Park fans. Padres Preferred parking is available directly adjacent to Petco Park. Fans should choose a parking location based upon the direction they’ll be heading after the game whether it is to the north, east or south. The Harbor Drive footbridge makes it an easy walk from the Convention Center Parking facilities to the ballpark.

Pre-Paid Parking Options
The Padres and ACE Parking offer a variety of convenient pre-paid parking options. Guests can guarantee a space in the lot of their choice by purchasing parking passes by clicking the link below, from the Padres Ticket Office, over the phone at 619-795-5555.

  • Tailgate Park (Padres Preferred Lot) — Entrance and exit to this surface lot is on 13th Street at K Street or Imperial Avenue between 12th Ave and 14th Street.
  • Padres Parkade (Padres Preferred Lot) — Entrance to this garage is on 10th Avenue between Island and J Street. Exit from this garage is on 11th Avenue between Island and J Street.
  • Premier Lot (Padres Preferred Lot) — Entrance to this surface lot is on 11th Avenue at Imperial Avenue. Exit is on Park Boulevard.
  • Bayfront Hilton Garage — Entrance to this garage is on Park Boulevard at Harbor Drive (near Convention Center). Use pedestrian bridge to walk to ballpark.
  • Convention Center Garage — Entrance/exit to this garage is on Harbor Drive (located under Convention Center). Use pedestrian bridge to walk to ballpark.
  • Horton Plaza Garage — Located at 324 Horton Plaza. Entrances to garage are on F Street at 4th Avenue or G Street at 3rd Avenue. Present parking permit or Padres game ticket to attendant upon exit for discounted rate.
  • 707 Broadway Garage — Located at 707 Broadway. Entrances to garage are on 7th Avenue or 8th Avenue just south of Broadway.

Garage and Lot Hours
All Ace Parking garages and lots open at least 2 hours prior to the scheduled start of the game. Padres Preferred parking locations open at least 3.5 hours prior to the scheduled start of the game. All garages, lots and premium parking locations will remain open until 2:00 a.m. following an evening event.

Drop Off and Pick Up
Drop-off and pick-up zones for guests are located on both the west and east sides of Petco Park. On the west side of the ballpark, guests may utilize 6th Avenue and K Street. On the east side of the ballpark, guests may utilize 10th Avenue and Park Boulevard. The drop-off location for private charter buses is located on 10th Ave. between K Street and Park Blvd. Reservations are not required. There is no on-site bus parking unless authorized by Ballpark Operations.

Electric Vehicle Charging Stations
In support of its Green Initiative, the Padres have partnered with ECOtality to install five (5) electric vehicle charging stations at the Padres Parkade garage (10th Ave at J Street). Located on the first floor of the garage, these electric vehicle charging stations (240 volt AC input) are connected to the blink network (www.blinknetwork.com)). The charging stations are available throughout the year (including ballpark events); standard parking rates apply.

BAGS/BACKPACKS

For enhanced ballpark security and to expedite the entry process for all of our guests, Petco Park will prohibit bags with the exception for single compartment clear plastic bags not exceeding 12” X 6” X 12” and infant and medical bags. Clutches and purses no larger than 5” X 7”.
